Disqus might be broken again…

I’m not having any luck with it on the Endurance Theme site, and others have wrote in that it isn’t working for them. I’m thinking there may have been a change in how Disqus works (because there were no issues before), and I’m looking into the issue. In the meantime, check to see if you’ve lost commenting features. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Okay, it works now!

The Disqus commenting system has been correctly set up now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

HOLY CRAP DON’T USE DISQUS YET WITH ENDURANCE THEME!!!

It turns out I forgot to make the theme use the Disqus shortname that you write in the Customize menu - it’s currently set to my user account! Needless to say I’m about to post an update to correct this stupid error, but it could take a few days for Tumblr to approve the update.

Until then, please don’t put anything in the Disqus shortname field in your Customize menus.

Commenting Figured Out!

I’ve submitted the changes to Tumblr for approval to enable Disqus commenting on your blogs! Look for the Disqus Shortname box on your Appearance tabs shortly.

Why isn’t this image showing up? Why is the box cutting off? The code shows up but there’s nothing to show in Safari? ARRRRRRRRGH…

Yeah, I’m stressing out over trying to add Disqus commenting to Tumblr. Never as simple as it should be. If you’re wondering why I haven’t managed to add commenting yet, that’s pretty much why.

Oh, and one more thing too…

I’m looking at putting in optional commenting features much like Peter Vidani’s Papercut Theme. They’ll be powered by Disqus, and assuming they fit in with the theme’s aesthetics, will be submitted soon.

A couple of things…

First of all, thanks go out to the (as of publishing) 2,979 users of my Tumblr theme!

Second, I’ve submitted a fix for a bug where single lines of text can break the page flow. It’s currently in the review process but should be approved shortly.

Endurance Theme Updated!

Two small updates to the Endurance Theme have been approved by Tumblr in the last few days. The fixes include:

  • Fixed images in posts to display no larger than 400px (by browsers that support max-width)
  • Switched from no Internet Explorer 6 compatibility to the Universal IE6 CSS
  • Fixed displaying of answer posts

If you haven’t edited the HTML yourself (by clicking the Custom HTML button under the Theme button in the Customize page), the changes should already have been applied to your blogs. Happy Tumbling!

Endurance Theme is Approved & Featured!

Hey everyone - the Endurance Theme is ready for your use! Also, thanks a lot Tumblr for featuring my theme!
